Inspector Fida Khan Wazir of Saddar police said he was informed by a constable at around 8am that unidentified armed men traveling on a motorbike shot a man on the road. After rushing to the site, they saw Inspector Inamullah lying dead beside his motorcycle.
A resident of Kaka Khel area in Masti Khan, Inamullah was stationed in Bannu City. A pedestrian was also injured in the shooting and taken to District Headquarters Hospital, Wazir added.
The injured, identified as Amir Khan, told the police the inspector was shot dead by two masked men who accidently shot him as well.
Inamullah’s body was handed over to his mother after an autopsy. His mother filed a case against unidentified culprits saying her son did not have any disputes with anyone.
