General Kayani visits Dir

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited Panakot, Dir on July 06, 2012. COAS was briefed about the measures being adopted against the threat posed by militants operating from safe havens across the border. While talking to Officers Kayani praised their high morale and sense of sacrifice. He also met the local elders and thanked them for their co-operation. He said that the Army is committed for peace and development of the area and will not leave the region until terrorists are defeated and civil administration regulates smoothly. Kayani was received by Commander Peshawar Corps, Lieutenant General Khalid Rabbani and other senior officers.
